Pepita is a highly experienced arts education expert. She started her career as a primary teacher in Sandwell before becoming Birmingham Hippodrome Theatre’s first Education Liaison Officer. During the 1990s she was appointmed Head of Arts Education for Birmingham and embedded a programme of arts education provision across the city. She later moved to be Assistant Principal of a 14-19 Specialist Academy before leaving to devote time to foster parenting.
Pepita is passionate about making a difference to the lives of children and young people, and believes that arts and cultural education is critical to the development of a well-rounded, functioning society. Outside of the office you’ll probably find her with a book in her hand; she can get through three novels in a fortnight.
