Explore how clay can be used with young children in the early years to promote children’s creativity, expression and imagination with artist potter Jon Williams!
Clay is a material that develops investigation, exploration and communication in its many ways of being explored and encountered by children. Clay, in its many forms, can be used in so many different ways even where a kiln is unavailable. The processes and possibilities of using this material offers children rich opportunities to explore and develop their senses, their ideas, as well as their gross and fine motor skills.
This practical and engaging workshop will provide you with knowledge of how to develop clay work with your children, including how to store and look after it, as well as sharing ideas and approaches that support children’s learning and meaning-making. Jon will also share some of his own amazing work with young children that will inspire and motivate you.
- No prior experience is needed; it will be an engaging and practical day, open to all abilities.
- There are 12 places available for this practical seminar on a first-come-first-served-basis.
The cost is £50, which includes lunch and refreshments.
